In the 10th Anniversary Edition of our ABC Newsletter, we wanted to feature different partners, sponsors and friends who have helped us through the years. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough space in our ABC Newsletter to thank all the generous groups and individuals who have made a huge impact on ABC Foundation and our scholars. So we are featuring them here instead!
These groups and individuals are very important to us and we would like to acknowledge their generosity in supporting A Better Chance Foundation.
Mr. Bill Evans is a good friend and former classmate of Chairman Lew Edwards. In S.Y. 2010-2011 he sponsored 15 Night High scholars at Siena College, Taytay, Rizal. This school year, his 15 scholars are now on their 2nd year of Night High School.
On Ms. Dinah Salonga’s birthday, 4 years ago, she asked her friends to make a donation to A Better Chance Foundation in lieu of giving her presents. She had a wonderful birthday party and the donation we received from her friends and family was able to put 6 Night High School Scholars through school for 5 years at Siena College, Taytay. Rizal. Her 6 scholars are now in their 4th year of Night High School.
Since then, Ms. Dinah has sponsored other Night High Scholars and our Eyeglass Project as well. She has also supported us by telling her friends about ABC Foundation.
Please help those who help us by visiting and supporting Ms. Dinah Salonga’s yoga studio, Yoga+ at the Fort Legends Tower, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
The Employees of Kaeser Kompressoren
When the employees of Kaeser Kompressoren heard about ABC Foundation during an Ariva seminar they were attending, they immediately contacted us to ask how they can sponsor Night High scholars of their own. That year, SY 2006-2007, they sponsored 8 Night High Scholars at Siena College, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, and continued to sponsor them every year until they graduated from Night High School in S.Y. 2010-2011.
Now that their 8 Night High Scholars have graduated and are in college, the employees of Kaeser have decided to sponsor 8 new Night High Scholars starting S.Y. 2011-2012 until they graduate in S.Y. 2015-2016.
Thank you to the generous employees of Kaeser Kompressoren for all your support!
Bob and Beverly Sellar
Mr. Bob and wife, Ms. Bev Sellar have been long-time friends of Chairman Lew Edwards and ABC Foundation. In S.Y. 2005-2006 they sponsored 8 Night High Scholars at Siena College, Quezon City who graduated from Night High School last S.Y. 2009-2010. After their scholars graduated from Night High School, the Sellars continued to sponsor 2 of them in college, providing for their tuition fees, books and daily allowances.
In 2007, the Sellars sponsored a feeding program for the Night High Scholars of St. Dominic Academy in Pulilan, Bulacan. The feeding program was a huge success! The Night High Scholars at St. Dominic Academy had nourishment to get them through the day and early evening. The teachers, administrators, parents and Night High Scholars were very grateful for the additional assistance, and of course the Sellars were very happy to have been given the opportunity to help. They were so happy with the program that they continued to sponsor the feeding program every school year since 2007. This school year marks the 4th year of their feeding program with the Night High Scholars of St. Dominic Academy. Along with the feeding program, the Sellars have also been sponsoring 8 Night High Scholars at St. Dominic Academy for the past 2 years. They have 7 scholars in 2nd year and 1 in her 4th year of Night High School.

Starting this S.Y. 2011-2012, Pacific Specialty Rare Metals and Chemicals, managed by Michael Carpenter will be sponsoring 8 Night High scholars at St. Dominic Academy in Pulilan, Bulacan. The company has pledged to sponsor their 8 Night High scholars every year until they graduate in S.Y. 2015-2016. In addition to the 8 Night High scholars sponsored by Mr. Michael Carpenter, his wife, Ms. Lei Carpenter sponsored 11 more Night High scholars after she meeting them during our orientation with new scholars at St. Dominic Academy.
Thank you Mr. Michael and Ms. Lei Carpenter and to Pacific Specialty Rare Metals and Chemicals for your support!
St. Ignatius de Loyola
The St. Ignatius de Loyola (SIDL) Community is a socio-civic group of OFWs which support worthwhile charitable programs in the Philippines. Since S.Y. 2009-2010 they have been sponsoring 10 Night High School scholars at Siena College, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. Their 10 scholars are now on their 3rd year of Night High School.
Every year, we meet different members of their organization when they return to the country for vacation. During their vacation, they always make it a point to visit the different organizations and foundations their group supports.
