Message of Gratitude

We thank God, our Providential Father, who makes all things possible, for the good of His children, especially those who are financially challenged. He sends instruments through generous people and institutions to carry out His providential plans for the benefit of those in need.

One of His instruments to carry out His providential care/assistance to those in need is A Better Chance Foundation (ABC Foundation), headed by a very generous and compassionate founder, Mr. Lewis Edwards. The ABC Foundation is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in its charitable programs to help those in need.

Siena College of Taytay is very grateful to have received and still receiving financial assistance and moral support from ABC Foundation for its free Night High School Program. This started almost at the same time with the establishment of ABC Foundation. We are also celebrating the 10th year of our Night High School Program. We have a very encouraging and friendly partnership in this project with ABC Foundation.

The students are very grateful for being provided with better opportunities to be in this special scholarship program. The parents are also very grateful to ABC Foundation. Many of our graduates are now successful professionals in their respective fields

To Mr. Lewis Edwards and staff, we pray for God’s bountiful blessings so that you will continue carrying on the mission He has entrusted to your care.

Congratulations and more power!

Kaycee Crisostomo

Kaycee Crisostomo, PR and Corporate Communications Manager, Robert Bosch, Inc.

Our batch of Night High School scholars - whom we internally refer to as the Bosch Class of 2010 as their culmination year began in 2010 - have been the most gratifying among our company’s beneficiaries. Their diligence and commitment to honing their studies have made the program one of the wisest, most solid investments Bosch has made in the Philippines.

Back in 2006, these ‘kids’ were no taller than 5th graders. This year, upon their graduation – and as they face a new challenge of university life – they have matured into responsible adults who confidently voice their opinions and are very comfortable with their individual personalities. And yes, some of them are a lot taller than me now.

I am very proud to be associated with this very promising group of young men and women; moreover, I am proud to have played a role in the grand scheme of the Night High School Program.

On its 10th Anniversary, we toast to ABC Foundation’s continued success in providing deserving children a hand-up through progressive education. Congratulations and thank you for the opportunity you have extended to Bosch and to myself.

Annette Helbig, Founder of Springboard Foundation.

Dear ABC Foundation,

Dear Lew and Hidie,

Springboard Foundation has the pleasure of being your partner in paving the way for so many young students to achieve the highest education. We’ve seen them change from young boys and girls who were frightened and unsure of themselves into young men and women who are confident, believe in themselves and are ready to achieve their highest dreams. The transformation we see in them is wonderful. They will be the future leaders in their areas and make a difference to the people around them. Poverty will have no chance to strike them down. You have given them something that nobody can take away from them: The power and tools to succeed.

Your program is amazing and everyone who works with you has touched us and the children deeply. Your love for them and the faith that is instilled through the sisters in Sienna College is such a blessing for them.

We are truly grateful to be part of this amazing work.

With much love and best wishes for your program in the years to come.

TO:  A Better Chance Foundation:

Wow! ABC Foundation is on its 10th   year! I am so grateful and honored to have been the 1st personnel of ABC!  I remember clearly our everyday activities and our “Mall Tours,” our visits to the schools and scholars; visits to our donors, counting coins, distributing wheelchairs and books, and a whole lot more. It was so fulfilling that I never felt like it was work! (Ok, ok, there were times when pressure seeps in.)

ABC Foundation has done wondrous deeds for our community, over the years. We are so blessed to have Mr. Lew Edwards share his genuine love for all of us. Thanks, Sir! I am ceaselessly thankful for all that you have taught and shared with me during my days there at ABC. Thank you very, very much. I miss ABC tremendously.

Scholars please do take care of the opportunities that are bestowed on you. Remember, with good grades, plus good attitudes, you’ll go a long way. Be thankful for all your blessings because you are the lucky ones.

“Lucky you, lucky me, to have ABC…”

Fr. Pierre Tritz, S.J. Founder of ERDA Foundation.

Dear Friends from ABC Foundation:

First, let me congratulate the Team behind ABC Foundation on its 10th Year Anniversary! We all know that sustaining programs for the disadvantaged children and youth is not an easy work, but ABC managed and persevered with its work of providing educational scholarship.

Second, my appreciation for the kind support that ABC has been extending to our Educational Assistance and Pre-School Programs. Many children were given the necessary preparation for formal school with ERDA’s partnership with ABC. I know those kids will forever be grateful for the opportunities.

You know that we only have one life to live so we must do the best that we can to help other people, especially the children.

We hope that ABC will be able to continue its noble and worthwhile undertakings in the years to come!

Thank you.

Ariva! Seminar and Convention Organizers

ARIVA! Events Management has chosen A Better Chance Foundation as its charity partner for four (4) years now, and it gives us a great feeling knowing that through our help, we are building a brighter and better future for underprivileged children.

I would like to share my success with them as I believe that though many are very eager to have the chance to be in school, they just don’t have the means. ARIVA! would like to make a difference simply by sharing what we have, and through sharing, a lot of underprivileged children are gaining.

Let me quote this “Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself.”  ~John Dewey

This saying really inspires me, for this serves as a motivation that we at ARIVA! are giving these children the chance to experience the wonderful things life has to offer just by the act of sending them to school.

It is our Corporate Social Responsibility to have a mission that learning with ARIVA! means building a better future for others’ tomorrow, and with that, for every learning event ARIVA! holds, one (1) underprivileged student is sent to Night High School for one full school year, on behalf of our participants. Learn with ARIVA! and be honored of helping less fortunate young Filipinos improve their lives. This is what we instill in the minds of our participants, for them to realize that with ARIVA! it is not just about learning, but helping and sharing as well.

Certainly we will never get tired of supporting ABC Foundation’s advocacy of assisting financially challenged children attain quality education as this is ARIVA!’S way of giving something back to society that will make a great impact in someone’s life.

Raniel Madrona

Raniel Madrona with Chairman Lew Edwards.

On behalf of the Night High School Batch 2 in SCQC, Happy 10th Anniversary to A Better Chance Foundation!  The past decade has been years filled with love, sharing, happiness and blessings.  ABC has indeed given hope and the opportunity to study to thousands of children who were once deprived of quality education.  And we are very grateful to be included as their scholars who have been given generous support by the foundation.  And now that we are in our tertiary level (college), we promise that we will do all our best and exert our greatest efforts to be able to finish our studies and to “pay forward” all the things that have been given by ABC.

With these, we hope that the ABC Foundation will never stop helping children who are in dire need, especially of quality education.  May this first decade turn to more years, decades, and even centuries.  And may God also continue to guide the foundation towards its fruitful goals and eagerness to help.

Kudos to Sir Lew and to ABC Foundation!

For the past 5 years that we’ve been in the industry, we’ve been blessed generously by our clients, and the best way we know how to express our gratitude is to give back to the community.  It has been a delight working with ABC Foundation to help us fulfill our mission.  The scholars are deserving; they are not only smart but they are also well-mannered, diligent, family-oriented and ambitious.  We will not hesitate to go to ABC again the next time we need a beneficiary.  Keep up the good work in helping the youth achieve their dreams.

Thanks!

Congrats, ABC Foundation!

I have always believed that education is the key to an individual’s development.  Any Filipino given the opportunity to learn will grasp the challenge, and through dedication and hard work transform himself and his family into greater contributors to Philippine society.

I am proud to have been part of ABC Foundation’s efforts to improve the lot of our fellow Filipinos by giving the youth the window to learning and a better life.

I wish the officers and staff of the ABC Foundation a more fruitful harvest of enterprising and learned Filipinos in the years ahead and more hands, hearts and souls to help them.

The Bosch Class of 2010 at Siena College, Taytay, Rizal.

On behalf of the Bosch Class of 2010, I would like to extend my gratitude for the continued support of our studies. It’s been five fruitful years since you started helping us; we were so young back then, taking baby steps in learning and experiencing new things. Time has gone by so fast, and as our journey through life continues, you are still the hope we cling to. We are so thankful for having been given a chance, and we certainly won’t waste the opportunity. Happy 10th Anniversary and we wish you 10 more happy years to come.

ABC Foundation is the way to success…..

I always appreciate young people who, in spite of hardships in life, strive to achieve their dreams. Every time I see our Night High School scholars, I  would always tell myself, “ang suwerte  naman nila (they are so fortunate),”  they are blessed with people who are kindhearted, people whose passion is helping others, especially the needy. Then, I would further say, “How I wish  there was an ABC Foundation during my school days and I was one of the scholars”. Well, I do not regret finishing my studies as a working student. I was even thankful and proud that I finished a degree with my own “sweat and blood” because I learned so many lessons in life. My favorite saying before was “Poverty is not a hindrance to success”. If I only met ABC Foundation then, I would have changed my saying to “ABC is the way to success…”

To Sir Edwards and all the ABC benefactors and staff, I salute you for having a big heart for the poor. You have made a difference in the lives of these young people who will shape the future of our country. You shed light in the darkness of their lives, hope in their despair and direction in their confusions. You have also set an example that the essence of life is in giving and loving others, especially the underserved.

To the ABC Foundation, I am happy and proud of you. My prayers are for you. May God bless you with His abundant graces and may your tribe increase. God bless.

Lani Julia, Night High School Teacher and Coordinator at Siena College, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Happy 10th Anniversary ABC Foundation! Another fruitful year of paving the way for the Filipino youth’s brighter future.

I can say that I am a witness to the ABC Foundation’s mission of nurturing bright minds and bright hearts; less fortunate yet so blest to be sponsored with scholarship. Being a Night High School teacher for seven years and three years as a NHS coordinator, my experiences working with the ABC Foundation have been life-changing years in my profession. The ABC’s ideals in serving the underprivileged Filipino youth have made me grow generously and compassionately. It’s really fulfilling when we serve others.

Though committing oneself to the service of others is never that easy. I can say that past challenges have been rewarding. I can imagine how our scholars would become without the ABC Foundation’s support. Truly, a brighter future begins with ABC.

It is an honor and privilege working with the ABC Foundation. To Mr. Lewis Edwards, Founder of the ABC Foundation and to the ABC staff, God Bless and more power!
