Freshmen Orientation and School Visit at Siena College, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan

Our 3rd Freshmen Orientation for the new school year was with the 1st year Night High Scholars of Siena College, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

We visited Siena College, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan on July 6 to meet our newest scholars, as well our as older, continuing Night High Scholars.

With us for the orientation program were ABC Foundation friends and supporters, Mr. Chae Kim and Mr. Don-Don Pagdagdagan, Chairman Lew Edwards’ grandsons Paolo and Lewie Santos and Siena College, Taytay, Night High alumnus, Alexis Balansag.

There are 44 1st year Night High Scholars in the Class of 2016, with 16 boys and 28 girls – all sponsored by different groups and individuals for starting S.Y. 2011-2012.

During the short orientation program led by the 1st year Class President, Ailyn Centeno, Ms. Lani Julia, Siena College, San Jose Night High Coordinator, 1st year advisor and teacher welcomed everyone and thanked ABC Foundation for its continuing support; Chairman Lew Edwards talked to the Night High scholars about the importance of teamwork in making the program a success; Mr. Don-Don Pagdagdagan gave an inspiring talk on how dreams can come true with hard work, perseverance and with the help of God; and ABC Foundation guest and supporter Mr. Chae Kim shared his experiences of growing up in a poor family and reminded the scholars to always be grateful for the blessings they receive.

Former Night High scholar, Alexis Balansag also shared his experiences as a Night High scholar of Siena College, Taytay, giving the 1st year scholars advice on communicating and establishing good relationship with their sponsors and on how to make the most of being Night High scholars for 5 years.

The 1st year Night High scholars also signed a Performance Contract which reminds them that as Night High Scholars of ABC Foundation and Siena College, San Jose, they have certain responsibilities and obligations, such as exhibiting exemplary behavior, excellent academic performances and writing thank you letters to their sponsors.

The new scholars were then photographed with Sr. Rose Busilac, O.P. High School Principal of Siena College, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, ABC Foundation Chairman Lew Edwards, Mr. Chae Kim, Paolo and Lewie Santos for their sponsors.

After the orientation, we visited the older Night High Scholars, from 2nd year to 5th year, to take pictures of them for their sponsors and to see how they were doing in the new school year.
