School year 2012-2013 is now well underway, and we would like to welcome all our new, as well as our continuing scholars for the new school year.
Our new scholars this school year include 4 classes of 1st year Night High Scholars at Siena College, Taytay, Rizal; Quezon City; San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, and at St. Dominic Academy, Pulilan, Bulacan; 10 Pre-school classes with ERDA, and 42 college scholars who graduated from our Night High School Scholarship Program at Siena College, Taytay, Rizal, Quezon City, and San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
Among our 42 new college scholars, 19 are being sponsored by Springboard Foundation and Sykes, Philippines. The 19 college scholars were part of a bigger group of 45 Night High School Scholars from Siena College, Taytay, Rizal and Quezon City, which Springboard Foundation and Sykes, Philippines sponsored throughout their 5 years of secondary schooling.
In addition to the 19 scholars, 3 more college scholars are being sponsored by the same generous individuals who sponsored them throughout high school.
Last school year, 8 of our scholars graduated from college, and are now either employed, or are taking review classes for their licensure examinations. Our college scholars this year graduated with degrees in engineering, accounting, nursing, education, and broadcast communications.
Apart from our new scholars, we have over 700 continuing scholars from elementary to college, and are expecting over 100 scholars to graduate from our Night High School Scholarship and College Scholarship Programs in March, 2013.
Our Night High School Scholarship Program will undergo a big change starting this school year. Because of the recent implementation of the K+12 Program by the Department of Education, the Night High School Scholarship Program in some Siena College campuses will be 6 years, instead of 5 years. This adjustment is being implemented at Siena College, Taytay, Rizal, and at St. Dominic Academy in Pulilan, Bulacan.
This school year, we are looking forward to doing all our usual activities, like Eyeglass Projects with Dr. Jeson and Ms. Anne Viñas, and many more with our scholars and sponsors.
Our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all our sponsors, partners, scholars, and friends who have continually supported and encouraged us over the years – Thank you, and we hope you join us again this school year!
