On February 3, 2011, ABC Foundation was invited to a unique event organized by the Siena Christian Community Development Center of Siena College, Taytay, Rizal.
The event was the annual Gabi ng Pasasalamat (Thanksgiving) Program at Siena College, Taytay, but instead of the usual program with the Night High Scholars singing and dancing, it was the parents of our Night High Scholars performing the song and dance numbers.
The Gabi ng Pasasalamat Program was opened by an invocation led by a group of Night High Scholars, followed by a few words from a parent representative. The Night High School Choral and 5th year Night High Rhythm Band performed a special number before turning the stage over to their parents.
The parents of our Night High Scholars put on a wonderful show – a high energy medley of unique song and dance performances. The performances were followed by heartfelt messages given by parent representatives from each Night High class to Mr. Lew Edwards. And because the Gabi ng Pasasalamat Program coincided with the 72nd birthday of Chairman Lew Edwards, the parents of the Night High scholars also gave birthday gifts and tokens of gratitude for being part of the Night High School Scholarship Program.
Mother Teresa Examen, O.P., President of Siena College, Taytay, Rizal delivered an inspirational message and presented Chairman Lew and A Better Chance Foundation with a Certificate of Appreciation from Siena College, Taytay, Rizal.
To end the program, the 4th year Night High scholars and their parents presented one last closing song.
The Gabi ng Pasasalamat is an annual program organized by Mr. Rene Logatoc, Head of the Siena Christian Community Development Center, which handles the Night High School Scholarship Program. This unique activity was created to give the Night High scholars and their parents a chance to thank their sponsors by showcasing and sharing their unique talents.
A big THANK YOU to everyone for putting on a wonderful show; to the parents of our Night High Scholars for their cooperation, hard work and enthusiasm; to Mo. Teresa Examen O.P., President of Siena College, Taytay, Rizal and all the teachers and staff of Siena College, for accommodating us and hosting our major events and activities, and of course, to Mr. Rene Logatoc, for his hard work and dedication to the Night High School Scholarship Program. He has been instrumental in making this unique scholarship program a success.
