  • 72,420 MEALS SERVED

SCHOOL YEAR  2017/2018 ends on April 6, 2018 and by that time A Better Chance Foundation with Partner Donors will have served 72,420 meals to public school children deemed to be malnourished or severely malnourished.

Each school year the Department of Education requires every public school student to be measured for weight and height. When a student does not meet the appropriate minimum height or weight for his/her age they will be declared malnourished or severely malnourished. These are the children that A Better Chance Foundation chooses to feed a meal to every school day. The meal is nutritious and filling. One bowl is served but if the child needs 2 or 3 bowls we always provide additional food.

The cost of a meal is P 20 or US 0.40ȼ. Often we see weight and height gains within 2/3 months and we note that school attendance for those being fed a meal is 100% unless they are sick.

If you would like to help us feed more children in the next school year beginning in June 2018 we will be happy to accept your pledge now.

Please consider one of the following:

Here are the costs:

1,000 meals – P 20,000 or US $ 400

5,000 meals – P 100,000 or US $2,000

10,000 meals – P 200,000 or US $4,000

Actually, any amount of donation is fine, these are suggestions.

At the beginning of each school year the Department of Education sends medical teams to each school and each student is given a deworming pill. That makes sure that our feeding program is effective. Join us in feeding more children next School Year, it is a proven high value program that gives a meal to children who usually come to school hungry. Twenty Pesos or US 0.40ȼ for a good meal at school, please consider being a Partner / Donor.

Good wishes,
