Dear Friends,

The Macquarie Corp. asked us, A Better Chance Foundation, to find eleven first year Business Administration/Financial Management students to be their scholars. And we did, thanks to the cooperation, including a (MOA) Memorandum of Agreement, of (PUP) Polytechnic University of The Philippines and their office of Scholarships and Financial Assistance. Macquarie, an Australian conglomerate, now sponsors 40 first year college scholars with ABC Foundation this School Year 2018/2019. This is their 7th year to sponsor our scholars. Not only do they sponsor but they are hands on with their scholars and our office staff.

Last Sept. 29, for example, Macquarie had 30 of their college scholars visit their Makati City office for an afternoon of mentoring and bonding. Macquarie, Philippines now employs 1,700 staff members in their Makati location and dozens of their staff members are active with their many (CSR) corporate social responsibility programs.

Polytechnic University of the Philippines (P.U.P.) has become increasingly important to us as a source of qualified scholars and we formalized that status with 6 officials of PUP who visited our ABC Foundation office last Oct. 4. Together we signed a formal Memorandum of Agreement regarding the scholars we will support this school year. We further made a verbal commitment to Dr. Zenaida R, Sarmiento, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, that  School Year 2019/2020 we commit to sponsoring 120 new first year college scholars. We reiterated our simple requirements that students for scholarship consideration be poor and smart and motivated to succeed.
